Let’s talk about my Magical Morning Matcha ritual. I gave up coffee around 5 years ago, as I intuitively felt it was making me too acidic and edgy, especially first thing in the morning. I switched to matcha, and I haven’t looked back since.
Matcha, it is one of the most unique teas on the planet, with tremendous health properties through careful growing, cultivating and processing. Unlike other teas, Matcha undergoes a number of additional steps in the production cycle before it makes its way to your cup. The tea plants used to make matcha are shaded for the last few weeks leading up to the harvest, which results in a dark green tea leaf that contains higher levels of chlorophyll, caffeine, and l-theanine.
My Greenshaker Magical Morning Matcha Latte is my favourite ritual to start the day, it combines healthy fats with organic coconut oil which makes it super creamy it doesn’t require any milk. The raw local honey is full of immune boosting anti microbial benefits - especially if it is local to wear you live. Ceremonial Grade Matcha is the highest quality grade of matcha, it’s much brighter in colour, and in my opinion flavour as well. The health benefits of matcha include a much cleaner caffiene as it is full of antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It’s a vibrant delicious healthy drink and it brings me so much joy to start the day!
1 x cup of boiling water (spring or clean filtered water is best)
1 x tbsp pure organic coconut oil
1 x tsp Alfred’s Tea Room (ceremonial grade matcha)
1 x tbsp raw organic local honey
1. Boil your water.
2. Using a vitamix pour in your hot water, add your coconut oil, raw honey and the Matcha.
3. Blend until frothy and foamy, about 1 min.
4. Pour into a mug, sit down and take a moment to appreciate the smell, sip and savour with pleasure.
